My dad was dedicated to taking us to Judo every Tuesday and Thursday. It wasn’t my favorite activity, but I know now that my dad just wanted us to learn a few of life’s lessons and to be able to defend ourselves if met with physical harm or danger. I remember my dad being physically strong and determined on the Judo mat. Some of the sparring that went on in that Judo club could only be described as an all our brawl. After hours of practice, it was always a treat and reward to visit Salt Pond Store where we would get ICEE’s and candy. I will never forget these special moments.
